Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.)

Vacuum Infusion
A state of the art technology for the production of large, high-quality, composite parts. The Vacuum Infusion Process (VIP) provides reliable manufacturing while reducing emissions to negligible amounts and providing considerable savings on labor costs.

Process Description
The principle of the process is the impregnation of multiple layers of dry reinforcement contained between a rigid, hermetic mold and a flexible sheet sealed around the perimeter. A partial vacuum is applied to the mold cavity to eliminate air void. Resin is then “infused” into the laminate stack completely saturating the reinforcement layers.

Product Capabilities
NMR has capabilities for engineered laminates up to 60 ft long with state of the art infusion tables and equipment. A variety of resins, reinforcements, and features including dual laminate, ballistic, and abrasion resistant materials are available to provide solutions to a variety of composite applications.
